To close the gap between the strong test takers and the rest of the class takes a constant dose of support. It takes a mentor.
AM was founded by a product of the NYC public school system. It was clear to me that a large classroom benefits a learner who is naturally book smart, a good test taker, and a strong participator. It takes only a few minutes of confusion in class to start a track of low scores and lowered confidence. From there, the wonders of the learning experience begin getting lost in the sea of unsatisfactory report card grades and late homework assignments. I hope to change that.
